The Association of Former Students at
Texas A&M University

For volunteer leaders of geographic alumni clubs, Greek alumni clubs, affinity groups and parent's clubs.
Alumni relations professionals welcome.

The 2nd RIVAL Workshop will be co-sponsored by the Society for Alumni Club Leadership (SACL) and the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas).

The RIVAL Workshop is all about the volunteer alumni leader! We are taking the best of a typical volunteer alumni leader conference hosted at a club’s alma mater, bringing it local and enhancing the experience by involving the extensive network of volunteer alumni leaders supporting any and all college and university geographic, Greek and affinity alumni clubs and parent's clubs.

We are further condensing the program into a half-day, Saturday event for maximum benefit with a minimum commitment. Learn more about the background for the workshop.

Purpose
The purpose of the SACL Regional Intercollegiate Volunteer Alumni Leaders (RIVAL) Workshop is to not only make it possible for many, many more volunteer leaders to benefit from the comradery, education and support of an alumni leaders conference, but also to compound the beneficial results through interaction with peers from other college and university alumni organizations.

Attendees will leave inspired, rejuvenated and with greater confidence in the ability to successfully lead a thriving club/chapter.

Date and Location
Saturday, December 8, 2018

University of Texas at Dallas
Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center
800 West Campbell Road
Richardson, TX 75080

The newly-minted Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center opened September 7, 2017 thanks to the generous $15 million donation of Nancy Gundy Davidson BS’80 and Charles “Chuck” Davidson MS’80. It is an inspirational space, designed to motivate aspiration among students and serve as a touchpoint for alumni, fostering connections between current alumni and alumni to come. Called a “gateway to the future” by its namesake donors, the facility is a building within a park, featuring sun-catching screens that create the illusion of comets moving through the cosmos.

This amazing facility will be the home of the RIVAL Workshop – North Texas 2018 with advanced audio visual and electronic support integrated into modern design and peaceful gardens.

Program and Speakers
The event begins with an informal lunch at 11:30 am, included in the registration. It will be an opportunity to network and get to know some of the other participants, as well as interact with sponsors who have prioritized supporting the programming.

The formal program will follow with almost 5 hours of programming to include plenary sessions, ClubX talks and breakout sessons led by ~ 15 local leaders. At the end, the keynote speaker will inspire us all prior to adjourning to the happy hour at 5:00 pm.
